3rd Annual Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month Meetup with Limb Difference Collective Foundation

Join the Limb Difference Collective Foundation at Brookfield Zoo on April 25th as we celebrate Limb Loss and Limb Difference Awareness Month with hundreds of children, adults, and families from across the disability community.

What began in 2024 as a simple online meetup that unexpectedly drew 150 people has grown into one of the largest limb difference community gatherings in the Midwest. In 2025, more than 230 attendees came together — families, adults with limb differences, supporters, and allies — creating a day filled with connection, visibility, and joy.

This momentum inspired the launch of the Limb Difference Collective Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to sustaining this annual event, expanding access to resources, and helping more people find community and belonging.
