Since its creation in 1989, the mission of Children’s Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CAC) has been to serve as the leading community resource to empower and heal children and families who have experienced abuse and to prevent violence against children. Using a comprehensive, community-based model, CAC provides specialized interviewing, advocacy and mental health counseling for young survivors of abuse and their non-offending family members. Our purpose is to help clients process their trauma, build resilience and live safer, healthier lives. All of our services are free and offered in English and Spanish.
