Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley's mission is to bring people together to build homes, communities, and hope. We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live, and we work to make that vision a reality through affordable housing initiatives.
We offer programs and volunteer opportunities focused on building, rehabilitating, and preserving homes for families in need. We build affordable homes as our primary focus; however we also offer Critical Home Repair, Aging in Place, and A Brush with Kindness—programs designed to keep lower income individuals from losing their homes due to the rising cost of home repairs. Additionally, we advocate for fair housing policies and provide education and resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
We are also collaborating with Nicor gas on our net-zero neighborhoods, and those Habitat homeowners will be a part of a nationwide study by Nicor reviewing the effectiveness of several new building techniques used in affordable housing to reduce energy consumption.
