Position Summary:
The Senior Corporate Relations Specialist is part of a collaborative sales team responsible for increasing non-dues, non-member revenue through participation in qualified sponsorship programs, ad hoc sponsorship opportunities, and meeting-specific advertising. This position manages the sales strategy for securing corporate support (sponsorships, advertising, and exhibits) for ASA’s ADVANCE: The Anesthesiology Business Event.  The position is also responsible for securing corporate sponsorships and advertising sales for ANESTHESIOLOGY. In addition, the position will sell year-round ad hoc products (e.g., webinars, focus groups, podcast sponsorships).
 
The Senior Corporate Relations Specialist works with the Corporate Relations Executive and Manager to enhance existing and create new sponsorships programs.
 
Position Responsibilities:
 

  • Work in tandem with the Corporate Relations Manager to develop and execute a sales strategy to secure and grow corporate revenue from qualified sponsorship programs, ad hoc sponsorship opportunities, and meeting-specific advertising.
  • Develop and execute the sales strategy for securing corporate support (sponsorships, advertising, and exhibits) for ASA’s ADVANCE: The Anesthesiology Business Event – to meet budgeted revenue goals.
  • Develop and manage the corporate sales strategy for the Anesthesia Quality & Patient Safety Meeting to meet budgeted revenue goals.
  • Work with the Corporate Relations Executive and Manager to evaluate and analyze current corporate relations products, assess whether they should remain in the portfolio, be amended, or sunset. Using ASA strategic priorities, work collaboratively with ASA departments to develop new products to be added to the portfolio. 
  • Manage the development and pricing of advertising opportunities for ASA conferences and meetings (ANESTHESIOLOGY and ADVANCE).
  • Manage sales of all advertising to Industry Supporter for ASA conferences and meetings (ANESTHESIOLOGY and ADVANCE).
  • In tandem with Corporate Relations Manager, develop a customer pipeline by prospecting and identifying sales leads for all programs and products.
  • Work with department Specialist and ASA department stakeholders to ensure all advertising and sponsorship program benefits are delivered.
  • Utilize Salesforce for accurate recording of accounts, contacts, opportunities, sales activities, closed opportunities and reporting.
 
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years in corporate sponsorship or related sales required. Experience in exhibits program sales and delivery, vendor oversight and product development experience required.
  • Utilization of Salesforce (or similar CRM software) required.
  • Proven ability to identify, cultivate relationships, and close sales with existing and prospective customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in cross-departmental teams.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to attain goals, meet deadlines and set objectives.
