STARTING SALARY RANGE: $66,345.00 - $73,809.00 annually dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is $66,345.00 - $96,203.00.

This position is assigned administrative and management work designed to provide professional support to both the Assistant Director and Director ofEngineering & Public Works. These assigned responsibilities will aid the Engineering & Public Works personnel in the development and ongoing administrationof a variety of village programs and services, and in the management of related administrative functions as well as assist in the planning and/or execution of theadministrative operations. This position will include a strong focus on assisting with asset management and data analytic initiatives.
This position assumes responsibility for assigned projects and will be required to analyze different approaches to projects and make recommendations and/ordecisions on how to address and manage the project and related problems. Supports the Engineering & Public Works Department in planning, implementing,and reviewing a variety of operational functions, capital improvement projects and assisting with the Village’s asset management initiatives. The position willfocus on the Department’s business intelligence including predictive analytics to accurately time proper operational and capital investments to drive efficiency,prioritize capital expenditures supporting Village strategies and focus on asset lifecycle costs. Additional responsibilities may also include assist departmentalstaff with technology hardware issues, assisting with or resolving resident complaints, and the preparation of materials for the village president, board of trustees,or advisory bodies of the village as directed.

1.Master’s degree in public or business administration or closely related field.
2.A minimum of two years of experience in a similar position in local government administration of related field, which shall have been at the level ofadministrative or management intern or higher.
3.Proficiency with current computer software systems, including email, calendar programs, job specific software, and customer service systems preferredor within the first six months of employment. Knowledge of GIS software, Asset Management software and MUNIS financial software preferred.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and local government structure and services. Working knowledge of localgovernment organizations, policies, and contracts. Knowledge of research and analysis methods, statistics, cost analysis, computer modeling and reportpresentation. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with members at all organizational levels and the general public. Ability to learn andperform any specialized operations of the department and work accurately with figures and numbers. Ability to make decisions in accordance with establishedregulations, procedures or policy. Ability to make disposition of problems and exercise good judgment in handling controversial issues and situations in acourteous and tactful manner. Interpret and administer federal, state and local laws relating to municipal issues. Must possess considerable organizational skillsto develop implementation plans and schedules for projects and other special assignments. kill in assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects anddemands. Considerable knowledge of sources of information related to problems of local government. Skill in conducting research, analyzing findings, writingclear and accurate reports, documents and correspondence. Ability to accomplish assigned administrative tasks with a minimum of supervision and with onlygeneral directions.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.Necessity to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
2.Extensive use of computers, video display, keyboards, and calculator.
3.Prolonged periods of concentration, such as proof reading, figure work, comparison analysis, and data entry.
4.A considerable amount of independence, with the ability to manage workload and immediacy, importance, and timeliness of certain projects.
5.Ability to cope with numerous interruptions.
