Position Summary:
Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager, the Software Engineer’s role is to assist in designing, developing, troubleshooting, and implementing program code for web-based applications/systems. This individual will be responsible for producing dependable, reusable solutions while conforming to the standards and processes established by the Software Engineering team.
 
Primary Position Responsibilities:

  • Works with Sr. Software Engineers to design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and document source code and configurations for web-based applications and REST API.
  • Creates re-usable, scalable, and testable code.
  • Utilizes various IDE’s, text editors, code repositories, comparison tools and other common developer applications to produce high quality web-based applications/systems.
  • Responds to helpdesk tickets in a timely manner. Works with the requestor to understand the issue being reported and implements a sustainable solution.
  • Understands, follows and advocates the IT department’s practices, processes and standards.
  • Works with project managers, product managers and/or business owners to review project requirements and user stories, evaluate their feasibility and recommend alternative solutions when necessary.
  • Provides estimates using story points, and resources that will be required to complete projects/tasks as assigned.
  • Researches, previews and reports on new, emerging web/mobile technologies and tools that could be a benefit to the department and organization.
 

 
 
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is highly desired.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with:
    • C# and .NET technologies (Core, 4.6 or higher - ASP.NET MVC, Web API)
    • ReactJS, HTML5/CSS3, REST, jQuery, JSON, JavaScript, Responsive Design
    • MS SQL Server (2017 or higher)
    • IIS
    • Microsoft Visual Studio (2017 or higher)
    • Azure DevOps/VSTS/TFS/Git (or similar)
  • Experience with the following is a plus:
    • Agile SCRUM methodology
    • CI/CD tools
    • Coveo
    • Microsoft Azure PaaS
    • Sitecore CMS
  • Requires excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to examine a situation from all angles and consider all possibilities.
  • Ability to translate ideas into solutions and produce results. Display creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to explain complex, technical concepts to non-IT personnel, members or customers.
  • Ability to craft specifications, flow charts, etc. to document and describe application/system operation and integration.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service. Solicits feedback from the customer.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness is top-priority. Strives to deliver the correct solution the first time.
  • Willingness to be flexible, able to adapt to a dynamic environment and embrace change.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize efforts, and meet deadlines.
