The Schaumburg Business Association is hosting a Virtual Town Hall Meeting with Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08) & State Senator Laura Murphy, the U.S. Small Business Administration and Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Development on Monday, April 27 at 9am.
“Social distancing measures are necessary to keep people healthy and safe, but our small businesses are now facing lost revenue and layoffs,” said Murphy. “I hope that the programs discussed on this call can help relieve some of that financial stress.” The call will focus on economic issues facing the small business community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Jonathan McGee, Assistant Deputy Director for Regional Economic Development at the Illinois Department of Economic Opportunity, will discuss the $60 million Illinois Small Business Emergency Loan Fund.
Bo Steiner, District Director of the Illinois office of the U.S. Small Business Administration, will also be on hand to explain the grant and loan opportunities that are available to struggling businesses in Illinois under the federal CARES Act.
All interested businesses and employees are encouraged to register. In order to make sure questions are fully answered, participants are encouraged to email their questions to kburnitz@schaumburgbusiness.com by 5pm on Sunday, April 26.
