2027 SWAG
TRIPPING UPWARD WITH BETH NABORS
For more than three decades, Beth Nabors Powers has been a recognized leader in the nonprofit community. Beth started her career serving as a family therapist for women recently reunited with their children after successfully completing residential care for substance abuse. She was later promoted to the director of development at that agency and after completing a multi-million-dollar capital campaign to develop an Equine Therapy Program for substance abusing adolescents, she was recruited to merge two non-profits (NW Suburban PADS and HOPE NOW, Inc.) forming what is now known as JOURNEYS | The Road Home. For more than 27 years, she has served as the Founder and CEO of the organization, helping develop JOURNEYS into a highly regarded and highly successful institution serving individuals and families facing homelessness throughout the northwest suburbs of Cook County. Most recently, Beth completed a successful $6.2 million capital campaign that built a new, state-of-the-art 24-hour facility with 42 shelter beds for the most fragile among us. Beth is married and the mother of seven adult children ages 25-41. As an alumna of Saint Viator High School, she has served on a variety of committees. She is a proud member of the Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County and of the Supportive Housing Providers Association. Additionally, she is a member of the Arlington Heights Rotary Club and the Schaumburg Business Association. In her free time, she also serves on the Board of The Community Mental Health Project and Love Local Chicagoland.

A space created exclusively for women!
To eliminate confusion between SBA Women in Business (WIB) events and the SBA Women?s Alliance Group, we are bringing all women-focused programming under one unified brand: SWAG SBA Women?s Advocacy & Gratitude initiative. Moving forward, the Alliance Group name will be retired, and all activities will be organized under the SWAG umbrella.
MISSION:
SWAG unites, empowers, and elevates women in the Schaumburg Business Association through connection, professional development, gratitude, and community engagement.
WHO WE ARE:
SBA Women?s Advocacy & Gratitude (SWAG) is the unified home for all SBA women-focused events. Our goal is to create an inclusive environment where women professionals and allies can thrive through learning, networking, and shared experiences.
