Today's event will update businesses in Schaumburg and Cook County on Assessor Kaegi's Assessment methodology for commercial/industrial real estate in Schaumburg, as well as any changes that can be provided regarding the appeals and exemption process. This event will prepare commercial/industrial users to minimize their overall cost of doing business, while providing a crucial update from Assessor Kaegi.
Fritz Kaegi is the Cook County Assessor. Since assuming office last year, Fritz has brought fairness, ethics and transparency to the Cook County Assessor’s Office with a vision focused on operational changes, technological upgrades, and the elimination of favoritism. Highlights of his first six months in office include the public release of all assessment modeling code and data, an external audit by the IAAO, the passage of a Data Modernization Bill in the Illinois Senate, and a new collaborative approach to property valuations to increase predictability and spur investment in Chicago and Cook County.

Kevin Morrison is in his first term as Cook County Commissioner; and is proud to represent the 15th District, which includes the Townships of Barrington, Elk Grove, Hanover and Schaumburg as well as parts of Palatine and Wheeling Townships. Commissioner Morrison’s core issues include improving access to critical health care services such as mental health, supporting small business development and creating more transparent and fair property assessments.
A native of Elk Grove Village and graduate of DePaul University, Commissioner Morrison is the grandson of Italian immigrants and his family’s small business recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary. His background in public service inspired his decision to run for the Cook County Board of Commissioners, and as the first openly LGBT Commissioner, he will speak up for the most disproportionately impacted and marginalized communities.
