Elegant fundraising evening brings together community leaders to support neighbors experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across Chicago's north and northwest suburbs
PALATINE, IL — JOURNEYS | The Road Home, a nonprofit serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity across Chicago's north and northwest suburbs, will host its annual Bid for Hope Benefit Gala and Live Auction on Friday, November 20, 2026 at the Schaumburg Convention Center. Doors open at 6:30 PM.
The evening will feature fine dining, cocktails, live entertainment, and a live auction, with all proceeds flowing directly to JOURNEYS programs that provide emergency shelter, stable housing, and wraparound social services for the thousands of men, women, and children in the region who have nowhere else to turn.
"One night can change everything for someone," said Beth Nabors Powers, CEO of JOURNEYS | The Road Home. "Bid for Hope is our community's opportunity to make that happen — not just for one person, but for hundreds of families who are counting on the generosity of neighbors who refuse to look away."
Homelessness and housing insecurity have risen at alarming rates across the Chicago suburbs in recent years, with suburban Cook County reporting a 12.5% increase in homelessness in 2024 alone. JOURNEYS served 1,045 people this past year, providing 41,999 nights of shelter, 91,882 meals, and 25,751 total free services to the community — including support for 266 children whose families needed a lifeline. This year, the organization also launched its first-ever Medical Respite program, offering short-term supportive shelter for individuals recovering from acute medical issues in partnership with local healthcare providers.
Every dollar raised at Bid for Hope supports programs that address the full complexity of homelessness — from emergency shelter and food assistance to case management, medical care coordination, and permanent housing placement. Stable housing, JOURNEYS notes, is the foundation on which every other part of a life is built: work, health, education, and family.
Individual tickets are available at $175 per seat, with table packages available for groups of eight at $1,300 and groups of ten at $1,600. Corporate and community sponsorship opportunities range from $500 to $15,000, including a limited Premier Named Sponsorship that positions a single sponsor as the headline partner of the evening. Sponsorships include brand visibility across JOURNEYS' email, social media, and event communications in the weeks surrounding the event.
Space is limited. Tickets and sponsorship information are available at journeystheroadhome.org/bidforhope and journeystheroadhome.org/bidsponsor.
