Informative presentation on a most current topic. \n\n\n\nKristina Buchthal Regal is an associate at Lavelle Law Ltd.\, where she practices family law\, order of protection law and civil litigation. Ms. Regal\, of Prospect Heights\, is also an attorney volunteer for the organization Between Friends\, a nonprofit group that provides counseling and court advocacy services to survivors of domestic abuse\, as well as educates young people how to recognize the signs of domestic abuse. Kristina concentrates her legal practice on representing survivors of domestic abuse\, and she counsels and represents them in matters including divorce\, child custody\, child support\, and orders of protection. She has been named a Rising Star by the "Super Lawyers" publication for five consecutive years\, from 2014 to 2018. She received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago in 2009\, and joined Lavelle Law upon graduation. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Prior to becoming an attorney\, Regal was a reporter and editor for multiple publications\, including the Associated Press\, "The Indianapolis Star" and "Crain's Chicago Business."
