The series is designed to provide participates with important information about topics such as the area's history\, infrastructure and educational composition as well as the significance of involvement in and support for the community. \n\n\n\nParticipants of this 3rd installment will gain further understanding the functions of local government\, how to have an impact and an opportunity to discuss current challenges facing the region. \n\n\n\nGet to know prominent community business leaders\, further understand how things are accomplished\, and engage with likeminded professionals.\n\n\n\nPANEL\n\n\n\n\n\nRepresentative Michelle Mussman\n\nFull-time legislator\; Chair of the Elementary & Secondary Education: School Curriculum & Policies Committee\; Board member: Women In Need Growing Stronger\, Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County\; Secretary of IL Congress of Women Legislators\, member: Illinois House Democratic Women's Caucus\, Green Caucus\, Children's Caucus\, and Cancer Caucus\, Schaumburg Business Association\, Illinois Housing Council\, Northwest Alliance on Domestic Violence\; B.S. in Design\, University of Cincinnati\; married\, has three children. Representative since 2011.\n\n\n\n\n\nCook County Commissioner Kevin Morrison\n\nKevin Morrison is proud to be serving his first term as Cook County Commissioner in the 15th District. In November 2018\, Kevin made history by becoming the first openly LGBTQ Cook County Commissioner\, at 28 years old the youngest in history\, and the first Democrat to represent the District. This race was a major upset in Illinois\, as Kevin beat the Chairman of the Illinois Republican Party.\n\n\n\nKevin's priorities include improving access to critical healthcare services\, especially in the realm of mental health services\, supporting small business development\, and pushing for a more fair and transparent home assessment process. As a member of the LGBTQ community\, he has already taken steps in expanding equity for the most disproportionately impacted and marginalized communities.\n\n\n\n\n\nSchaumburg Mayor Tom Dailly\n\nAs Mayor of the second largest economic engine in the state of Illinois\, Dailly works with a staff of over 500 employees that strive to provide the best services possible. With an evening population of 74\,000+ and daytime population of over $130\,000+\, Schaumburg is home to over 9.5M sq ft of retail and restaurant space\, 12M sq ft of office space\, and 13.5M sq ft of industrial space. There is also over 30 hotels and 250 restaurants serving a vibrant\, highly educated workforce making Schaumburg.
