DESCRIPTION:Presented by: \n\n\n\nJoin us for breakfast\, open networking and workshop on varied subjects with other business professionals.\n\n\n\n\n\nThis Month's Speaker: \n\nKerry Lavelle\n\nLavelle Law\n\n\n\n\n\n"SERVICE IS GOOD BUSINESS"\nAll businesses need to understand that putting community first\, makes good business sense. In this session\, attorney Kerry Lavelle will discuss why civic involvement is not only important to the success of a business\, it needs to be a core value.\n\nMany leading companies like Merck\, Walmart and Hewlett-Packard have histories that show a deep commitment to doing what is right even when it impacts doing what is most profitable. Through examples like those\, Lavelle will show how visionary leaders can see through the routine elements of growth and profit and find value in serving the common good.\n\nFinally\, attendees will work through the process of evaluating their corporate position and identifying the steps they can take to become more responsible corporate citizens without compromising the success of their business.\n\n \n\n\n\nKerry Lavelle received his undergraduate degree in Economics from North Park University. He then earned an MBA in Finance and Economics from DePaul University before pursuing his J.D. at the DePaul University College of Law. He began his own practice\, Lavelle Legal Services in 1989\, focusing primarily on matters of tax law.\n\n\n\nToday\, Lavelle Law\, Ltd. has grown to include twenty-seven attorneys with more than a dozen practice groups.\n\n\n\nIn 2015\, the American Bar Association published his book "The Business Guide to Law: Creating and Operating a Successful Law Firm." Kerry has also hosted a weekly public policy television program and along with the other attorneys in the firm is a regular contributor to a weekly podcast series\, "Chicago's Legal Latte."\n\n \n\nHe has received numerous commendations and awards for his tireless commitment to both charities and pro bono legal services. His entire staff is committed to a wide range of charitable events through Lavelle Law Charities.\n\nKerry has served as an adjunct faculty member at John Marshall Law School\, teaching a course in I.R.S. Practice and Procedure and as an adjunct faculty member at William Rainey Harper College Illinois where he has taught courses in Business Law and Economics.\n\nMr. Lavelle resides in Inverness\, IL with his wife Geralyn and their four children.\n\n\n\nBreakfast provided by:
