The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA®) is a medical association based in IL, which serves a continuously growing membership of more than 52,000 physician anesthesiologists and medical students. To serve the needs of those members, we’ve been adding staff at an unprecedented pace the last four years. As we will soon eclipse 150 staff members, we recently relocated to a brand new, state-of-the-art headquarters building in Schaumburg, Illinois – just a short distance from the shopping complex centered around the Woodfield Mall.

Anesthesiologists are some of the most highly trained physician specialists in medicine. They are the leaders in the operating room and were the first medical specialists to recognize patient safety as a specific focus of care. Today, physician anesthesiologists play leading roles in research, clinical care and even political advocacy.
