Position Summary:
The Foundation for Anesthesia Education and Research (FAER) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, and a related organization of ASA. For over 30 years, FAER has been dedicated to developing the next generation of physician-scientists in anesthesiology. The FAER Marketing Specialist will develop strategic marketing plans and is responsible for the tactical execution of the plans. This person identifies and monitors campaign key performance indicators. This position is responsible for coordinating between development and programs in the establishment of a marketing vision for FAER. Additional responsibilities include ensuring the FAER brand standards are met, and supporting three key audiences: donors, grant/program applicants, and FAER governance. The FAER Marketing Specialist is encouraged to explore and test new marketing strategies to ensure marketing plans are successful.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute an integrated marketing plan for FAER to achieve fundraising and program goals.
  • Create marketing strategies and collateral for fundraising, programs/grants, and governance.
  • Develop marketing materials to ensure they align with campaign messaging and FAER brand guidelines.
  • Write and coordinate news releases, announcements, education, and other public and media materials.
  • Write, design and post content for communications (FAER website, e-blasts, appeals).
  • Curate success stories from FAER awardees.
  • Develop and execute FAER’s social media strategy.
  • Coordinate and staff exhibit booths.
  • Identify and monitor key performance indicators for marketing campaigns, such as website hits, email analytics, Google Analytics, etc. and adjust marketing tactics to ensure goals are met.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications or other related field required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a marketing/communications role. Experience with electronic marketing campaigns and CRM/AMS preferred.
  • Experience monitoring marketing campaign performance and report development required.
  • Ability to plan out a project, determine requirements, set achievable and realistic deadlines, mange expectations, manage change and deliver results.
  • Experience with developing and executing marketing digital strategy preferred.
  • Strong copywriting skills required. Knowledge of AP Style a plus.
  • Verbal and written communication styles are clear, descriptive and direct.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on producing quality, error-free work.
  • Computer proficiency with MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
