Position Summary:
The Director of Information Technology collaborates with the senior management team, ASA Member leadership teams and all levels of staff to align information technology with strategic direction of the society. Provides strategic planning, tactical action, and operational decision-making to fulfill ASA strategic and operational goals as well as IT department goals and mission. Directs and manages all aspects of ASA information systems including strategy, planning, budgeting, implementation and support of computer hardware, software applications, websites, user support, networks, telecommunications, and training. Oversees 4 IT service areas including Project Management, Infrastructure, Web and Digital Services and Application Development. Oversees PMO process and activities aligning ASA IT and Business resources with ASA strategy and goals.

Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field is required. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • A minimum 10 years of Information Technology management and leadership experience leading IT strategy and operations including Infrastructure, Application Development, PMO and Website Management functions. Association/not for profit specific experience is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing an IT budget including hardware, software, consulting professional services and training.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience managing the IT project portfolio, working with key stakeholders across the organization to align with strategic and operational goals.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience attracting, recruiting and retaining top-notch IT professionals to help drive strategic, long-term effective use of technology for an organization and its customers.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience overseeing the management and evolution of enterprise-wide systems like CRM, AMS and ERP systems.
  • Minimum 3 years of senior managerial or director experience in a related function.
