Position Summary:
The Methodologist will be responsible for the collection and analysis of critical scientific data relevant to the practice of anesthesiology. Job responsibilities will include conducting systematic literature reviews, assisting with conduct of meta-analyses, administering and analyzing surveys, and providing project management support pertinent to the development, refinement and final production of ASA parameters.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Conduct systematic literature reviews and assisting with meta-analyses to support development of ASA standards, guidelines, and advisories.
  • Support Senior Methodologist in survey development, distribution and analysis.
  • Support Senior Methodologist in creating and tracking project plans containing key tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Assist the Senior Methodologist in preparing drafts of practice parameters.
  • Support Senior Methodologist in coordinating committee or task force conference calls, sending out agendas, gathering supporting materials, and conducting administrative follow-up as necessary.
Position Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in: Public Health, Epidemiology, Life Sciences, Statistics or other related discipline required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in scientific literature evaluation or research in clinical medicine.
  • Experienced scientific writer.
  • Excellent attention to detail in reporting and interpreting research results.
  • Familiarity with clinical and statistical terminology and research methodology.
  • Familiarity with the strengths and weaknesses of various study designs.
  • Knowledge of the perioperative environment and clinical issues confronting anesthesiologists preferred.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office products.
  • Experienced user of Endnote and systematic review software.
