Position Summary:
Collaborates with subject matter experts (SMEs) and other ASA staff to design, develop, implement and evaluate high quality simulation educational products and services based on member’s needs and ASA strategic priorities. Provides suggestions in the development and implementation of the instructional design and assessment strategies of Screen-based Simulation, portfolio-based products, Self-Assessment Programs, based upon each product’s and service’s considerations, goals, objectives, and desired outcomes. Serves as a key member of the ASA performance development staff who executes assigned programs including but not limited to Screen-based Simulation, Simulation Endorsement and portfolio-based learning activities.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Support ASA’s Endorsed Simulation Network activities. Ensure compliance with data integrity standards for network related activities.
  • Maintain portfolio-based activities by reviewing educational and participant data, financial projections versus actual sales, and other data and information that provide insights into the effectiveness and success of the activities. Identify and make recommendations for program improvements. Provide communication support with assigned program volunteer members, faculty and editorial boards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure products satisfy ACCME accreditation and American Board of Anesthesiology’s MOCA requirements.
  • Lean requirements gathering and story mapping. Plan and execute product launch strategies and activities. Facilitate product usability test sessions. Create product roadmaps and release plans.
  • Develop and execute tactics in the product line strategy that will increase purchasing scale and leverage. Successfully drive tactics and manage the cost structure of the product line.
  • Work with stakeholders to create exciting new product capabilities that create competitive differentiation for ASA products. Continuously monitor developments in technology related to online-learning, simulation, and distributed learning. Maintain an understanding of industry trends and communicate applications to ASA product lines.
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating educational activities, preferably in a medical association environment.
