Position Summary:
Reporting to the Center for Perioperative Medicine Executive Director, this position will:

  • Manage and operationalize CPMed projects with collaboration from other ASA departments and in coordination with CPMed Executive Director.
  • Facilitate activities for CPMed workgroups, including documentation of workgroup activities and meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to ASA’s Center for Perioperative Medicine and Center for Anesthesia and Perioperative Economics.
Primary Position Responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively across ASA departments and the CPMed Executive Director on the successful completion of CPMed projects, including but not limited to, in-person and virtual meetings (e.g., the CPMed Perioperative Medicine Stakeholder Summit), developing CPMed educational products, launching and maintaining the CPMed Website and publishing online content via other ASA communication outlets.
  • With the CPMed Executive Director, contribute to the successful execution of the CPMed Corporate Advisory Council, including the key opinion leader service and the research opportunity access program.
  • Manage communication and promotion opportunities for CPMed resources, tools, and meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to CPMed and CAPE, including the maintenance of a comprehensive set of files and materials.
  • Facilitate communication and actions between CPMed, ASA Governance, and ASA physician leaders to establish and maintain governance structure for CPMed.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge on trends affecting perioperative medicine.
  • Develop knowledge on anesthesia and perioperative economics and contribute to ASA policy developing on economic issues.
  • Provide excellent customer service with timely, accurate, and courteous responses to all members and key stakeholders.
 
Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop productive and professional relationships with members and co-workers.
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, with a high level of confidence and poise, and a strong service orientation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Project coordination experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other productivity focused tools.
  • Self-directed with a high degree of independence, flexibility, initiative, and commitment. Ability to work as part of a team with limited oversight.
