The Senior Accounting Analyst is responsible for providing support to the financial operations of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) and related organizations by performing accounting and analytical functions related to preparing and reviewing financial transactions, general ledger balances, financial records and reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Senior Accounting Analyst participates in the financial close process and plays an important role in the timely and accurate completion of the financial audits and IRS filings.

  • Offer advanced analysis and review of revenue transactions for revenue recognition according to GAAP.
  • Create and post monthly revenue accruals and perform other accounting closing duties with special focus on revenue.
  • Prepare and record journal entries and reconciliations. Make necessary corrections to ensure the accuracy of the accounting records.
  • Analyze revenue agreements and create revenue recognition tools for accurate revenue recognition and reporting.
  • Assist with financial audits and 990 tax return filings.
  • Liaison with business operations teams on issuing invoices in accordance with contractual agreements.
  • Monthly tracking and reporting of accounts receivable aging items.
  • Evaluate internal financial accounting and control processes to provide suggestions for improvements.
  • Evaluate and coordinate ledger entries in adherence to rules, while guaranteeing that close activities are accomplished promptly and accurately.
  • Participates in various projects as assigned in order to meet departmental goals (i.e. support FP&A group with their budgeting efforts; preparation of financial statements and other management reports; play instrumental part in the implementation of the new GL system).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or CPA designation required.
  • Minimum 4 years of staff accountant or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office products; proficient in Excel spreadsheet layouts.
  • Strong attention to detail. Able to independently evaluate, resolve, and assess intricate analytical issues.
  • Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Customer-focused and collaborative. Able to share knowledge and information at different levels of the organization.
