The importance of self and situational awareness.  As professionals, we should have a solid game plan before we go into high-stakes or simply stressful situations.  Equally important is the need to be attentive to the environment and the people in it and know when to pivot and adjust the game plan to serve what is best in that exact moment and situation.
5. Variable focus. Whether leading a team or facing a customer, being able to shift your focus is essential in seeing every detail that matters.  It means ensuring that as leaders, we can gain some cognitive distance and objectivity in a high-stress situation and avoid being captured by the chaos.  It means being able to detect if a customer is tracking and on board with what you are saying and how to adjust if not.
